Accomodation

Global vision

http://www.ot-dijon.fr/fr/hotels/_moteur_hotels.php
in particular a list of hotels classified by district with fares and linked to the website of the hotels (if available). You'd prefer an hotel near the towncenter or the railway

Booking agency on line

one of the best prices of the web

only in english, a good selection and a good price

only in english and with a lot of
functionalities : for DIJON

and cheap and last minute agency (list on Shop4less)

and the comparision of fares (restricted choices)

My selection of hotels (HjS)

I'm used to go to ***JURA or more exactly "Tulip Inn Hôtel du Jura". You could select it on different booking websites ... with different prices; it always is on cheap website a few days before and with a rather weak handing-over at the last time.

IBIS proposes three different hotels in Dijon, avoid Ibis Sud, accept Ibis Arquebuse behind the railway, prefer Ibis Central (where we meet on thursday evening) [price from 45€ to 69€].

Kyriad also proposes three different hotels in Dijon, you can even select Dijon Est Mirande for its proximity to the University [price from 48€ week-end to 55€ and 58€].

Campanile is in front of the railway [price from 59€ to 66€]

and if you want to offer you a stay in a palace, go to the
Hostellerie du Châpeau Rouge. You could book it on a lot of websites [you could find it at 192$ double on destinux.com or 130€ on federal-hotel.com or www.webtravel.fr or book.bestwestern.com .....]

There are also cheap accomodation on Centre de Rencontres Internationales et de Séjour [price from 15€ until 30€] .

Others

You can visit central market of Dijon to obtain a few local products as s escargots (de Bourgogne) in a specialized shop near the market

Don't leave Dijon without tasting and buying pains d'épice (de Dijon); buy it to maison Mulot and PetitJean est incontournable (13 place Bossuet , 1 pl Notre Dame or 16 r Liberté ).

Dijon is also mustard, you could find different kinds in the shops of the city. You can change the brand by tasting mustard Fallot (that you could buy on line)

Dijon, is also known for its blackcurrant and its blackcurrant cream you can add to white wine or red wine (to realise a Kir or a Communard) or mousseux, or champagne to becomer "royal".Buy liquor of Dufouleur (in Nuits St Georges)...then, you never buy another kind of liquor (also good pure!). [there are also blackberry cream, more recent]. you can buy it also to maison Briottet (12, rue Berlier )

As cheese, buy époisses (refined with the marc of Bourgogne )

As for the wines (of Bourgogne),visit the BIVB

Do not forget your chart of the vineyards (click on it to enlarge)
Go to Beaune, you will have all the shops (52 shops for the tourism office ) and museum of wines

To obtain more information, you can go to the local tourism office well documented
for example      Nuits Saint Georges
                          Gevrey-Chambertin

Marsannay-la-Côte

                          etc etc

To have information about the "gastronomie Bourguignonne "
